Review highlights
Based on 725 reviewsTijm is widely appreciated for its charming canal-side location and inviting atmosphere, making it a favored spot for both casual dining and relaxed gatherings. Reviews consistently highlight the diverse and well-presented menu, featuring flavorful dishes and standout pastries that appeal to a variety of tastes. The coffee, particularly the iced variety, receives frequent praise for its quality. Service is commonly described as friendly and efficient, with staff attentive to seating arrangements even during busy periods, though occasional moments of inattentiveness after meal delivery have been noted. While most menu items receive positive remarks, some guests find certain dishes less impressive, indicating potential inconsistency in flavor. Overall, Tijm’s combination of a picturesque setting, diverse food offerings, and warm service contributes to its reputation as a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience in Utrecht.
I liked all my food except the curry dish. Everywhere I travel, I end up eating Indian food for the spices, remind me of Mexico/ home. I had the curry dish and it was flat, very lack luster, tasted like tomato soup. Don’t get me wrong all the rest of the dishes were great and the pastries were to die for. The view of the canal is one of a kind and I enjoyed my experience at Tim… just avoid the curry dish if you like spices.
The service here was wonderful—all staff were extremely welcoming and helpful with finding us seats on a crowded Saturday morning. The food was lovely and there was a diverse menu, so everyone in my party was able to find something that looked appetizing. We were so excited about our meals that we started eating before I could snap a photo, but I did try to include at least part of our dishes!
Tijm in Utrecht is a little gem. Service is great, polite, quick, no fuss. Their iced coffee hits the spot, and the sweet treats are just as good. Add the fact that it’s right by the water, and you’ve got yourself a place worth stopping at.
Good coffee, delicious food and friendly staff. There are a lot of options to choose from on the menu and the place is very well decorated. I personally loved the grilled Halloumi pita.
Excellent food, well presented and balanced. Each dish was delightful and great value. The venue is located next to a canal so try to get a table near a window. The service was friendly although they did ignore us once we received the food. Maybe that's their style?
What a lovely spot right in the center of Utrecht! There were no free tables outside, so we sat inside — which actually turned out even better, with a beautiful view directly over the canal. The place is really nicely decorated, with a great interior. The waitress who served us was incredibly kind and friendly. The coffee was excellent. Unfortunately, we didn’t try the food as we had already eaten, but we stopped by for a coffee and really enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this place!
We ordered the pasta and burger, both were super (and I work at a burger restaurant). Amazing food, friendly staff and nice ambiance. We definitely had foodgasms at this place. Drinks were also amazing!!Definitely recommend.
Very nice small place with tasty fresh lunch/brunch options. I had a Poke Bowl and it was very tasty, full of ingredients and a really big portion as well. It was quite crowded even though I arrived before 4pm, and around 5pm all the tables were already full and many additionally with reservations starting soon. Laptops are not allowed.
